"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." - George S. Patton

The Reason I Started Running

I've spouted out over and over again how important it was to me to prove that even an overweight stay-at-home mom of three can run a marathon. Well, this guy inspired ME today when a friend sent me this link on YouTube.

If you have ever had an issue with weight, or even if you have ever run... get the tissues ready!

This is what inspiration looks like:

  2. I saw this yesterday and must have watched it four or five times by now. Everyone I've showed it to has had the same reaction-total tears. I am so inspired by this guy, and even more inspired by the whole online running community coming together and going nuts over this video! That's one thing I love about running; you can take total strangers who decide to undertake a common goal and it bonds us all together. We are spread out all over the country and even the world but we GET each other and cheer each other on. I love it.
I'm so glad I got to see this video before my first half. I wonder how far I can push myself!

  3. Yay, Jessica! It's amazing! Everyone should see it!

Jennifer.. I know! That is one of my favorite parts of running. I love the comradary during races too. We all help push each other along!

And don't wonder how far you can push yourself.. because it's limitless! :)
